A Caldecott Anniversary - Afternoon Session
Date:
Thursday, February 21, 2013

  Description:

A Celebratory Look at Selected Caldecott Winners and their Influence Throughout Seventy-Five Years.

During this interactive workshop, we will look closely at selected picture books, including Where the Wild Things Are and The Snowy Day that have been recognized as the 'most distinguished' of their time. As we savor their details, we will think critically about the various influences each book has had on culture, history, and children's literature and will discuss the new perspectives that they continue to bring to the field and to readers.

Presented by Emily Prabhaker
